Living in Dade

Nestled in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, Dade County is a serene fertile valley, located between historic Lookout Mountain and stately Sand Mountain.  The county borders both Tennessee and Alabama.  Trenton, the county seat, is located approximately 25 minutes from downtown Chattanooga and other metropolitan cities – Atlanta, Georgia; Birmingham and Huntsville, Alabama; Nashville and Knoxville, Tennessee are all only 2.5 to 3 hours away.

Dade abounds with waterfalls, streams, and caves for the adventurer.  There are beautiful areas for backpacking, bicycling, camping, and for the brave at heart, hang gliding!  Dade is home to numerous artists and crafters. Visitors from all states come to enjoy Dade County studios, fairs,  festivals, Antique Alley and The World’s Longest Yard Sale.  In the evenings, try one of our family owned restaurants for good down home cooking.  Activities for the family can include a trip to the movies, bingo, listening to local musicians, or even square dancing.
